Protect Your Home With The Best In Security Cameras by Kathryn Dawson
Crime is rising and intruders are constantly finding even more ingenious ways to break into properties, so it pays to use all the resources available to protect your home or business. Homeowners spend millions each year looking for effective ways to deter intruders and keep their family safe. One affordable and reliable solution is to invest in high-tech security cameras that can keep a watchful eye on everything you value all year round. Here are a few facts about easy to install cameras and how they can help you, and yours.

Often, just the mere presence of a camera system can stop a burglar in their tracks and send them off looking for an easier target Here you will find a collection of fashion images, like alexander mcqueen shoes, clothing, skull scarf, clutch, wedding dresses, jewelry and more.. And for yourself it can give peace of mind that your property, family, or business premises are being watched over.

Home security cameras are designed to keep running 24 hours a day and can be accessed from a remote location via the internet to enable you to view the premises. If you have to travel away from home on business or are away on holiday then you can access the cameras from wherever you are and check everything is as it should be. This way you don't need to ask neighbours to keep popping around to keep an eye on things, unless there is a specific problem that arises.

A good quality home security doesn't have to cost the earth, there's an extensive range of high-tech systems on the market that are affordable for the discerning householder. Prices have come right down and you can get cameras with all kinds of features, from built in microphones and good optics, to night vision and zoom lens, all for a reasonable price these days.

There are 2 main kinds of security cameras, hard wired and wireless. The wireless option is easier to fit and reliable, but batteries need replacing regularly and you'd need to keep on top of this if your security is to be 24 hours. Basically, hard wired are more efficient as they don't require batteries and are generally longer-lasting. They both work in more or less the same way, the camera sends the recorded image to a computer, television or cell phone. If need be, the images can also be saved on a video cassette recorder (VCR), digital video recorder (DVR) or your computer.

Get some advice before installing security cameras as to the type of system that will best fit your needs and where to position them, it's recommended they are placed both inside and outside the premises. You want them to capture as much of the area as possible with no hidden corners or spaces, or objects, that could provide an intruder with a hiding place or prevent their face from being seen clearly. Indoors, place cameras on every floor, covering the stairwell and exterior doors and any other rooms where you may keep or store valuable items.

Look for cameras that offer a high resolution and picture quality as they will help identify anyone if it ever comes to reporting a burglary to the police. Lower priced cameras will just produce blurred and grainy images and are not always so clear. If the light is poor then black and white can be just as effective as colour, although if you have the funds available colour will capture a high-resolution image of the intruder and make them easier to identify.

As well as fitting security cameras in your home it also pays to take other measures to protect it. Make sure your doors are sturdy and fit adequate locks on them, check with your insurance policy as this will state what standard of lock you are required to fit. Also always lock your doors and windows if going out, even if you are just popping around to the neighbours for a short while, you never know when an opportunist is waiting to strike.

Look online for a great selection of security cameras and CCTV equipment, there's also some interesting and unique ideas if you're in the market for a hidden or spy camera, these simple devices are very affordable and can be facilitated to watch over a particular area or room.

Medieval Art- A alexander mcqueen Different Approach to Home Dcor by Louise Alderson -

18-11-2013 15:51

Medieval Art: A Different Approach to Home Dcor by Louise Alderson -
The Medieval era is the period in European history from the fall of Rome to the Italian Renaissance; from 476AD to 1450AD. During this time Europe went through a series of considerable changes, gradually laying the groundwork for elements of the Renaissance and later periods. During this time Art flourished and came to embrace Christianity.

Medieval art emerged from a blend of Roman art and German art, thrown together during the upheavals of the Middle Ages. Its distinct, gothic look owes much to both its influences, and very quickly developed along distinct lines.

It is this distinct element to it that makes it so striking and, even now, is a serious consideration for anyone looking for something unusual and striking for their home dcor and home accent choices.

Medieval Art

During the Middle Ages art often depicted scenes from everyday life, and at times was used to illustrate stories, fables and myths. There are a number of recurring themes seen in work from this time, including mythical beasts, a preoccupation with sense and perception, glorification of battles and the celebration of great dynasties Here you will find a collection of fashion images, like alexander mcqueen shoes, clothing, skull scarf, clutch, wedding dresses, jewelry and more..

Of particular importance was the emergence of religious symbolism; using art as a means to communicate complex metaphysical concepts such as love, redemption and forgiveness. Art rose to the challenge and the sheer breadth of the art produced is one of the main reasons the Gothic style remains an iconic and fundamental pillar of western art.

Now many are looking again at the art of the Middle Ages as an exciting and unusual addition to their home dcor options. With many possibilities, from quality prints to wall tapestries, they are being appreciated by more and more people looking for something a little different.

Medieval Prints

A great many famous works from the Middle Ages have been reproduced as prints and posters. Some of the best examples from history are now available, and are a real treasure trove of information as well as a unique piece of wall art.

One of the most popular is Les Vendanges (The Grape Harvest). Woven in the late 15th century it was designed to celebrate the annual wine harvest and it depicts the peasants gathering the grapes for use in wine making. The design includes the distinctive Mille Fleurs decoration typical of Medieval art.

During the Middle Ages art was commissioned by the wealthy and tended to reflect dramatic themes and religious symbolism. More rarely work was commissioned to depict everyday scenes, like Les Vendanges, offering a rare glimpse into life during Medieval times.

Although the original was a wall tapestry high quality prints lose none of the original texture and drama, and make an exceptional addition to any dcor scheme.

Medieval Wall Tapestries

Although prints enjoy a privileged position in home dcor popular Medieval art is increasingly available as luxury wall tapestries. The woven nature of tapestry art adds depth and texture to these already impressive works and makes a distinct alternative to framed art.

A growing number of wall tapestries are now available. A particularly impressive example are wall tapestries inspired by the illustrated Medieval work Les Tres Riches Heures (The book of hours). As the name suggests it was a collection of text for each liturgical hour of the day which often included other supplementary texts such as calendars, prayers, psalms and masses for holy days.

The original manuscript was painted by three brothers, Paul, Hermann and Jean Limbourg from Flanders, believed to have been born between 1370 and 1380. The work was completed between 1412 and 1416. These tapestries depict the illustration from the calendar texts for various months, each related to an event associated with the time of year such as harvesting.

Because wall tapestries are textile based the weave often helps lift the original work making for a quite dramatic piece of dcor. The best quality tapestries do an impressive job of not only reproducing the original detail, but add considerably to their charm and people can be quite taken aback at their distinctive nature.

Something for every taste

Nowadays many people are looking to Medieval art to add some charm and history to their home decor. With a vast array of options to choose from, including posters, prints and wall tapestries, there's never been a better time to appreciate these unique works of art.

Laying Out Your Landscape Part Charlotte Olympia Two

18-11-2013 11:05

Laying Out Your Landscape Part Two Part Two in a SeriesOnce you have your landscape design on paper, now its time to transfer it to the actual location where you will be planting your plants. You will need a couple of tools in order to accomplish this. First its handy to have a long tape measure. For example a 50 foot or 100 foot tape measure is a lot easier to use an 8 foot or 16 foot one. You will be able to easier layout your landscape with a longer tape measure Charlotte Olympia Birthday Cancer Zodiac Smoking Slipper In Light Pink. You might also need some wooden stakes, some string, an old garden hose, and some marker paint. If your landscape design calls for a regularly repeating pattern, or a very rigid formal grid structure, youll want to use stakes and string. Start by finding a fixed point on your design and take all your measurements from that one point. Check your measurements frequently as you start laying out your stakes in your yard. Run string or twine from one stake to another to help lay out your design. If your landscape design is more free-form, with curves and random areas, youll use an old garden hose. Again, you want to find a fixed reference point from which to start your plan. Using the garden hose, layout your shape. The garden hose will allow for very smooth and gentle arts and arches and curves as you lay out your design. In both cases, once you have your design transferred to the ground using either stakes and string or garden hose, youll want to make it permanent by using marker paint. Marker paint is simply spray paint where the nozzle is upside down from a normal can of spray paint. You hold it upside down and spray on the ground. Use the paint to trace over your string lines, or the garden hose. Now that you have your entire design layed out and painted on the ground its time to start adding some plants. Remember, a good design uses a layered effect. You will want to place taller plants in the back, and smaller, shorter plants in the front. This gives depth and interest to your landscape design. Take your plant material, in their nursery containers, and begin laying them out in your design. Once you have most of your material in place, take a step back and look at your handiwork. Now walk through your yard, and take a look at how things appear. Now is the time to change things. Once things are planted, it is very difficult to make changes Charlotte Olympia. But now, your plants are still in the containers, you can very easily move things around and change your visual effect.Preferably, if you have time, leave your temporary landscape in place for a day or two and take a look at it throughout the day. Your design will look different at different times during the day. For example, in the morning, the light is coming from a different angle, than in the evening. So you want to be sure that your landscape design looks good at all times during the day post by haiyan701.In our next article, well take a look, and the actual planting process, how to prepare the soil, and how to make sure your pants have a good start at a long healthy life.<

For additional help or information with water damage prevention, any qualified contractor or local water utility personnel should be able to provide you with assistance.

For the Exterior

A professional roofing contractor should be employed to repair any and all deteriorated or damaged roofing materials.

Eaves, gutters, and downspouts should be free of debris to allow water to drain freely. They should also point away from your home or businesss foundation.

Inspect attic insulation and ventilation to help extend the life of your roof.

Basements or crawl spaces should be inspected for any signs of dampness or stagnant water. This could be a sign of a plumbing leak or improper damage.

Keep water pipes that are exposed to freezing temperatures or drafts well insulated to reduce the possibility of leaks.

Disconnect outside hose connections during the fall and winter to avoid burst pipes due to freezing.

For the Interior

Check your home or business thoroughly for any signs of leaks on ceilings, walls, floors and near appliances that use water.

Double check water hose connections that run to washing machines, icemakers, dishwashers, and other appliances that might use water.

Sinks, showers and tubs should be re-caulked or re-grouted to prevent moisture from seeping into tight spaces and creating mold.

Washing machine hoses should be checked and replaced regularly, especially when there are signs of cracking, bulging or other deterioration.

All water oriented appliances and equipment should be inspected and well maintained.

Contain small hot water heater leaks by placing small pans under the leak area to catch water.

Its important to stay on top of home or business maintenance when it comes to preventing costly water damage. Water damage can lead to the need of mold remediation and even general construction. How to Select a Really Good Water Hose

16-11-2013 11:15

How to Select a Really Good Water Hose What separates a good water hose from the cheap junk so often found in the big box discount stores? Here are some of the features to look for in a quality hose that will give you years of good service.Drinking Water Safe: Drinking water safe is not an absolute designation since all hoses release some small amounts of chemicals. PVC and synthetic rubber hoses release small amounts of toxic or known carcinogenic compounds into the water and are not generally considered drinking water safe. Ether-based Polyurethane is the best choice for drinking water safe hose construction since it releases very little in the way of harmful materials.Quality Construction: Look for brass fittings. Brass has the unique ability to form water-tight brass-to-brass connections. The other advantage of brass is its great resistance to corrosion. Another sign of a superior hose is the use of high-density rubberized hose kink guards on both ends of the hose to eliminate any possibility of the hose collapsing or kinking to a closed position when pulled taunt from the faucet.Durability: According to data compiled from lab testing results provided by plastic tubing manufacturers and chemical compound manufacturers such as Dow Chemical, BF Goodrich and others, this is my best guess as to the life expectancy you might get from hoses made of these different materials. PVC hose (these are usually the cheapest hoses) about 1 year.Cheaper Polyurethane compounds (doesnt say ether) about 3 5 years Charlotte Olympia.High quality multi-layer Rubber about 5 10 years.Ether-based Polyurethane about 5 10 years.Hose Style: Most hoses are of the straight variety. Straight hoses reach to their full length but are the most difficult to store post by haiyan701. Straight hoses can be stored on a hose reel, but it is often difficult to muscle them on and off the reel. If you want to use a reel, a Polyurethane hose is your best choice since they are lighter and more flexible. Coiled hoses are easier to retract back into their coil shape for a more compact storage. Cheaper coiled hoses tend to lose the coil memory and twist and kink into a tangled mess. There is a hybrid type of coil hose which retracts back to a very compact flat stack and is a good choice if you need the hose to stow into a small space Charlotte Olympia Birthday Leo Zodiac Smoking Slipper In Orange.Care and Maintenance: With good care and maintenance you can greatly extend the life of your hose. Even with the best UV resistant hoses, long term sun exposure is the greatest threat to long hose life. If at all possible, store your hoses out of the sun when not in use. If you live where the winters are cold, you should drain your hose before storage so that the hose material doesnt crack due to the expansion of ice. With these guidelines and advice in mind, you should be able to find a hose that meets your needs and will provide you years and years of good service.<

How to Completely Get Off the Grid Using Renewable alexander mcqueen clothing Energy by Gary Ashby

15-11-2013 16:05

How to Completely Get Off the Grid Using Renewable Energy by Gary Ashby
Living off the grid is the Holy Grail for many eco-friendly households. How to completely get off the grid with solar panels and windmills is a serious question that should be considered not just by the sandal wearing, dashiki loving community but by soccer moms and business professionals alike Here you will find a collection of fashion images, like alexander mcqueen shoes, clothing, skull scarf, clutch, wedding dresses, jewelry and more.. No longer is being off the grid code word for that crazy loon in the mountains.

What it means to live off the grid, is living in such a manner that one's home does not draw any power from commercial sources such as power plants or other utility companies. The benefit of this, along with smaller bills, if any bills at all, is the reductions of the households impact upon the earth. Green energy is sustainable and renewable energy commonly gathered by way of solar panes or windmills.

Along with smaller bills, no bills in cases of one truly living off the grid, the household can breathe easy knowing that they are doing their part for Mother Earth. Carbon footprint is a term coined just recently by activists and concerned scientist You need not to be a Hollywood star just to have the right and privilege of wearing an alexander mcqueen clothing, it is every woman's freedom to own and wear a Alexander Mcqueen for as long as they want.. One's footprint is determined by the amount of damage done by daily living either by drawing power or by using non-biodegradable products. Living off the grin is a sure fire way to reduce this footprint while saving money.

It has only been in the past few decades that living off the grid has become an acceptable method of living. Counter culture may have started it but now a days this lifestyle is embraced by nearly everyone. Communities dedicated to such a life can be found all over. Roofs lined with black solar panels and homes adorned with windmills are the tell tale way of finding those homes concerned with the environment. These homes enjoy many of the same luxuries that homes with a dependence on commercial power enjoy. It's all electricity just the method of gathering it is different.

Solar panels are by far the most used method of gaining Independence from power companies and achieving the goal of living off the grid. Solar panels can be found not only on calculators but as a source of power from parking lot lamps, cars, and now homes. Solar panels for the home work much in the same way as they do for calculators just on a larger and grander scale.

Wind energy gathered by windmills is often partnered with the use of solar panels. Many pictures fields of windmills towering over plains of tulips somewhere in the heart of Holland but windmills can now be found nearly everywhere. Wind energy is a viable source of energy being both clean and cheap.

The set up and cost of conversion to go to off the grid living can be discouraging to many. However, the monetary benefits in the long term as well as the positive effects on the environment must be considered. What might be costly today will certainly pay off in the years to come when there are no bills to the power companies to pay.

So it is no big surprise to see solar panels pop up in suburbia as well as many families moving to communities dedicated to solely living off of alternative energy. Living off the grid is becoming more and more desirable.

The first step is to determine how to completely get off the grid with solar panels and windmills. A relatively easy task given enough research and proper planning Turn your world for the remarkable alexander mcqueen scarf and let it be another must have in your fashion conscious closet.. Well worth it when one considers the fate of the planet and the growing concern about Global Warming. Using naturally occurring power sources such as wind and sun is just a smart way to go green while saving green in the process. For those living near the equator, solar panels are highly effective, for those living in areas prone to cloud cover, windmills will probably be the primary source of alternative energy; determining which combination is right for your household is key.

Household Toxins - Cleaning Products And Disinfectants by Nick Vassilev

Household Toxins - Cleaning Products And Disinfectants by Nick Vassilev
Many of the products we buy for use around our home release toxins into our environment. If we use a lot of them, we can be continually exposing ourselves to a barrage of chemical toxins with all sorts of nasty effects on our airways (respiratory system) and the rest of our bodies - some household cleaners and the like can even contain carcinogens.

Yes, some disinfectants and home cleaners kill germs; they kill all cells, good and bad alike - even yours... Some products are worse than others for releasing toxins into your home. Avoid them if you can!

1. Plug-in air fresheners that release a constant amount of artificial fragrance into a room to create a pleasant ambience. The fragrances in all air fresheners are very strong, very artificial and very bad for you - you've probably read the warnings on the cans about concentrating and inhaling the fragrance post by haiyan701. While ordinary air fresheners used in the toilet are bad enough for you, we don't usually breath much of these in - you spray once (and usually only once or twice a day), then you leave the toilet. But these room scenters constantly release toxic chemicals into a main living area. It much better to stick to fresh air or to use real essential oils to scent your living area. Removing them will also lower your power bill, at least slightly - another bonus.

2. Toilet bowl cleaners. The best part about these is that they come in bottles with the "duck" head that makes it easy to get under the rim. But they contain some ferocious cleaning chemicals you are likely to encounter - and they're going to linger in a small room which is sometimes not that well ventilated Charlotte Olympia Birthday Gemini Zodiac Smoking Slipper In Sky Blue. Some of the ingredients in a typical toilet bowl cleaner include oxalic acid, hydrochloric acid, lye (caustic soda) and naphthalene. The irony is that the toilet bowl is usually fairly fresh - it gets flushed with clean water regularly (the downpipe, the seat and under the rim are another story, however). A good hard scrub with regular detergent or baking soda or even a soak in cola drink can do the job just as well.

3. Shake-on carpet deodorants. Like the plug-in air fresheners, they release a large barrage of artificial fragrances which are often toxic. The kind you vacuum over to release the fragrance are the worst - you end up breathing in all the particles. These carpet deodorants are particularly hazardous for small children who are often on the floor Charlotte Olympia. If you have a very smelly carpet or if you want to scent your room while vacuuming, mix baking soda with essential oil to be shaken on, or put a few drops of essential oil on the outside of your vacuum cleaner bag.

4. The cleaning product used in a mechanical dishwasher. These are often extremely caustic and contain very strong alkali. While you can't really use a substitute, powder form is better, as you can regulate the dose (unlike tablets) and contain fewer harmful ingredients than the liquid sort. Make sure your kitchen (or wherever you keep your dishwasher) is well ventilated and try to avoid inhaling the steam when you open the door after a cycle has gone through - the steam is pretty strong. Alternatively, leave the dishwasher to cool before you open it up to put the dishes away. You can also get away with using less powder than is called for and still get clean dishes.

5. Glass cleaners. These are a mixture of ammonia and water, and you inevitably manage to inhale some when you're trying to see what you're doing while cleaning a mirror. Use a vinegar solution instead, and buff with paper towels or a lint-free cloth - or even scrunched up newspaper.

6. Oven cleaners: These are probably the most toxic chemicals you will encounter (drain cleaners are the others). In this writer's opinion, a dirty oven is less of a hazard than using these chemicals. However, a good scrub out with baking soda works just as well, although it takes more elbow grease (which burns calories and gives you a bit of exercise, so it'll do you good). Using a baking sheet down the bottom of the oven to catch burnt bits, and replacing it regularly is another good tip for cleaning an oven.<

Hand Feeding your Koi

14-11-2013 15:54

Hand Feeding your Koi One of the most rewarding and entertaining things about having a Koi pond is when your fish finally start eating out of your hand. There is no better way to learn each fishes' personality and temperament than to have them nuzzle your fingers when they are hungry. The key to training your Koi to eat from your hand is patience and conditioning. Like any wild animal Koi have a natural distrust for anything that they think can hurt them, and you're plenty big enough to do that as far as they are concerned. If your goal is hand feeding then you need to start training from the very first time that you feed a new fish. Of course, it's not too late to start training your existing fish, but it's easier if you start out that way.If you have been feeding your fish by simply broadcasting the food on top of the water then stop doing that immediately. Instead, bring your feed bag next to the pond and kneel down. Then, place a few pellets in your hand, submerge your hand, and let the pellets slowly fall out. Don't worry if your fish seem to not be paying attention. They know that your hand is in the water and they know that pellets just appeared out of nowhere. Eventually one or two will swim up and eat. When that happens, the rest of them will follow. Continue slowly dropping pellets from your hand until you have fed your normal amount. Repeat that process for about a week. The following week, set up as you did last week, but this time submerge your hand and hold the pellets in your slightly cupped palm. Hold your hand steady and don't make any movements. Eventually at least one fish should come over and eat from your hand. It is essential that you do not make any quick movements while this is happening. Remove your empty hand and repeat the process. If the fish will not approach your hand to feed, then do not feed them that day. They won't starve to death, believe me, and they will be a little bit more likely to eat form your hand the next time that you offer them food.Once you have them to the point that they will eat form your palm, it is time to teach them to take the food directly from your finger tips. Simply grasp a pellet, submerge your hand, and wait until the boldest fish approaches. Once he eats the others will follow. If they don't you know what do to. Just feed the ones that will eat from your hand and let the others miss a meal. Hunger is a great motivator for Koi.Once you have your Koi eating out of your hands you can alternate between normal feeding and hand feeding for those times when you're in a rush and just can't sit down and enjoy your fish.To read the full article, click here:
